BARMM sets inaugural session on Friday


COTABATO CITY: Officials of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will take their oath of office before the Qur’an during their inaugural session in this city on Friday.

“We started the jihad with an oath before the Qur’an. This time, we will also take an oath before the Qur’an as we start our governance,” Chief Minister Al Haj Murad Ebrahim, said on Monday.

He explained that the process of taking an oath before the Islam Holy Book is one way of observing consultative and collective leadership in the Bangsamoro region, which promotes “Islamization of governance.”

During the recent assembly in the barangay (villages) of Gambar and Pagalugan in Kabuntalan town in Maguindanao, Ebrahim noted that the “assembly is one way of following rules, which many of us were ignorant of or were not…
