Cebu village hit by fire drug-affected — police 


THE City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) in Cebu said Barangay Pajo, which was hit by a huge fire on Sunday morning, is illegal drug-affected.

Supt. Mark Gifter Sucalit, CIB chief, issued the statement after arson investigators said they are looking into reports that an abandoned house being used as illegal drug den could have caused the blaze that destroyed at least 38 houses in Sitio Kitchen, Lapu-Lapu City.

“I have no specific knowledge that there is a drug den in Sitio Kitchen but there is a possibility since Barangay Pajo is affected by illegal drugs. It is hard for us to speculate,” Sucalit told The Manila Times.

He said the police would continue their saturation and information drive against illegal drugs in Lapu-Lapu City and not just in Barangay Pajo. “We will coordinate…
