Joseph Estrada is back in Business. Today he went to the presidential palace in Manila for the first time since he got replaced in a coup in 2001. He was insisting that destiny would make the palace “his” again. Joseph attended a meeting of the advisory national security council. Estrada, who is now 71 years old and a former movie star, was convicted and jailed for corruption in 2007, later he got pardoned. Gloria Arroyo and other former leaders of the Philippines attended as well as GMA’s security advisers.
Joseph Estrada expected the meeting to take on the security threats of the upcoming May 10 presidential election. If someone asked Estrada about him succeeding Gloria Arroyo he answered “That is destiny”. He will have a tough time though to succeed since polls show Benigno Aquino and Manny Villar in front so far. Estrada might even be disqualified as a provision in the Philippine constitution does not allow a former Filippino leader to be president two times. This will have to be decided by the state election monitor.
