Jason Ivler Captured

Jason Ivler, one of the most wanted person in the Philippines, was finally caught yesterday morning in Marlene Aguilar’s home in Blueridge Subdivision in Libis, Quezon City. Marlene Aguilar, the sister of local singer Freddie Aguilar, denied in the past that she was hiding her son Ivler.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted the joint operation to search the house of Marlene Aguilar’s house base on an intelligence report gathered by the law enforcement agencies. Yesterday’s operation was done for the third time and the operatives failed to capture Ivler in the first two search operations.

Jason Ivler refused to surrender peacefully and started shooting the operatives of NBI and PNP. Two operatives were hurt in the shoot-out. Ivler sustained gunshot wounds and was sent to Quirino Memorial Medical Center after the shoot-out.

Ivler had been eluding law enforcers since he killed a son of a Malacañang official November of last year after road rage. Renato Ebarle, Jr., the son of Undersecretary Renato Ebarle, Sr. died after being shot three times Ivler was also involved in an accident that killed an adviser of President Arroyo in 2004.

Additional charges will be filed against Ivler. Resisting arrest and illegal possession of firearms are just few of the additional charges that Ivler will face aside from his homicide case. Marlene Aguilar will be charged with obstruction of justice.
