Manny Pacquiao, our Pacman, showed the world again why he is the hero of the Philippines. The biggest crowd for any boxing fight in the last 17 years, 51000 people, was cheering for our Pacman in the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. Manny Pacquiao was the dominating fighter from the start in the fight against the rather passive Joshua Clottey and easily confirmed his status as the best pound for pound boxer in the world. “Everything’s working now,” trainer Freddie Roach told Pacquiao after the third round. “It’s easy.”
The crowd could surely tell who was winning the fight as it was always our Pacman who was in control. The results were all rounds for Pacquiao from one judge, the other two counted one of the 10 rounds for Joshua Clottey, but that’s it.”
He’s a very tough opponent,” Pacquiao said. “He was looking for a big shot.” Clottey, on the other hand stated “He has speed, I lost the fight. “He’s fast, that’s why I was taking my time.”
Manny Pacqiao was quoted talking about the Mayweather fight: “I want that fight, the world wants that fight, but it’s up to him”. Unfortunately that wont happen anytime soon since Floyd Mayweather is fighting against Shane Mosley on the first of May 2010, and Mayweather would still have to take down his demands of the ridiculous blood tests. The mega crowded fight today was still nice for Manny Pacqiao’s wallet, he earned an estimated 12 Million US$.
So it seems it was right that nobody wanted to bet against Manny Pacquiao this time…
