The Manila concert scene starts off with a big bang early in 2010 as R&B star Ne-Yo returns to perform before his Philippine fans on January 9, 2010 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
Ne-Yo, who was one of only two foreign artists to have filled Araneta Coliseum for two straight nights in 2008, promises an even bigger and cooler show as he leads a 28-man entourage of dancers, backup singers and DJs on his return engagement in Manila. In store for Manila fans are live and extended renditions of the hits from Ne-Yo’s third CD “Year of the Gentleman” like “Closer”, “Mad”, “Miss Independent” and “Part of the List”. Ne-Yo will also reprise hits from his earlier CD’s like the super-successful single “Because of You”, “Addicted”, “So Sexy” and “Go On Girl”.
Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, has been very busy not just on the 2009 music scene but in the movies as well. He postponed an earlier scheduled 3-month tour October/November 2009 to star in a movie produced by long-time friend Denzel Washington. He had to join a U.S. Marine boot camp to prepare him for his first starring role as a futuristic soldier. Ne-Yo also recorded the credits soundtrack for the forthcoming Disney animation feature “Princess and the Frog” scheduled for worldwide release December 2009.
Philippine concert fans will be treated to an unforgettable evening of really cool ROB hits and superb entertainment in the inimitable Ne-Yo fashion. The “Eurasia”, the newest and hottest all-female performing group from Viva Records, will be the opening act for the Ne-Yo concert.
