Corona, PSBank ask SC to stop presentation of bank records

MANILA (Updated 1:36 p.m.) — Lawyers of Chief Justice Renato Corona rushed to the Supreme Court (SC) to stop the presentation of his bank records before the Senate impeachment court.

In a 39-page motion, the defense panel asked the High Court to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) that will defer the implementation of subpoena issued to branches of Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and Philippine Savings Bank, a subsidiary of the country’s second largest lender Metrobank.
