Bill allows individual Sandigan justices to hear graft cases

A BILL at the Senate seeks to allow individual justices of the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan to hear cases on behalf of their three-member divisions in order to speed up the resolution of pending cases.

“Undeniably, the arrangement that three justices sit as a panel and act as trial judges to hear the evidence¬†of the parties and decide each case worked when the number of cases that reached the Sandiganbayan was small,” said Senator Franklin Drilon, who authors of Senate Bill (SB) 3099.
