Bill allows individual Sandigan justices to hear graft cases

A BILL at the Senate seeks to allow individual justices of the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan to hear cases on behalf of their three-member divisions in order to speed up the resolution of pending cases.

“Undeniably, the arrangement that three justices sit as a panel and act as trial judges to hear the evidence of the parties and decide each case worked when the number of cases that reached the Sandiganbayan was small,” said Senator Franklin Drilon, who authors of Senate Bill (SB) 3099.
