PIA Website Hacked
The Philippine Information Agency’s (PIA) website was hacked last Sunday, August 29, 2010 by a hacker whose identity is yet unconfirmed. The Agency’s website was defaced and was replaced by an image of a black screen with a Chinese Flag with the words “Hacked by 7Z21″ and “Black Matrix team | 0x.oday@Gmail.com” Sunday afternoon and was up only at around 7pm.
Malacanang has already instructed government agencies to review and improve the security of their websites following several cyber attacks in the past including that of the Department of labor and Employment (DOLE), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Health (DOH), the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The cyber attack was made almost a week following the hostage incident which claimed the lives of eight (8) Hong Kong tourists which has outraged most Hong Kong citizens.
