Benigno Noynoy S Aquino III – The new President of the Republic of the Philippines

The results of the Presidential Election 2010 are not yet official, but it seems that Benigno “Noynoy” S. Aquino III is the next President of the Republic of the Philippines with nearly 50% of the votes.

Benigno “Noynoy” S. Aquino III was born on February 8th 1960, is a Senator of the Philippines and one of the candidates for President of the Philippines in the 2010 election, as the standard-bearer of the Liberal Party. He is the only son of former President Corazon Aquino and former Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr.

Congratulations Noynoy, you are the hero of the Philippines.
Now you just have to fight corruption and all is fine ;)

you're right ronnel. if fighting corruption becomes noynoy's top priority, everything will be all right. should start from the top to the bottom: from his office down to the lowest government employee. hope he doesn't fall between the cracks (noynoy, beware of power, for power breeds greed, and greed breeds corruption). even marcos and arroyo must have started with idealism but soon they became entrenched in power and greed and corruption…and all is lost. they forgot that it is a privilege to serve as president, an opportunity to write their names in history as presidents worthy of the people's love, respect, and trust.

fight corruption, noynoy. change should start from top to bottom…from your office down to the lowest government employee. the rest will follow. beware of power…power breeds greed. don't fall between the cracks. marcos, even gloria started with idealism and then became so greed entrenched that they forgot it is a privilege to serve as president…and to serve honestly and competently (serving in the most effective and efficient manner).

uhmm.. how can he fight corruption? he haven't even done anything in the senate. he doesn't have experience, no track records what so ever. just because he was wounded by the rebel soldier doesn't make him effective in the presidential seat. doesn't even want to do debates after that debate in february.

how can noynoy fight corruption? not single-handedly, yawbear. you can help. we can help. we can become watchdogs against corruption instead of becoming part of the process. we can report government employees who accept bribes. surely not a big deal but if we stop whining and questioning the ability of the new government to lead and, instead, we start looking unto ourselves and ask ourselves how can we help, if we all do it…if our supportive actions for clean governance become a massive, contagious movement…then there is hope for all of us. there is hope for our country, yawbear. even the poorest, the most ignorant among us can help noynoy lead the fight against corruption.

now p.i. pride. now is the time to learn that we can unite, that we should stop being divisive. we should learn to stop whining, to stop the satire, the negativism. if we feel as you do, there is no hope for us. ask yourself p.i. pride, how can you help? when will you learn to help? aquino won and nothing can change that, not your bitterness. but he has a promise. think of how you can support him to fight graft and corruption. even drips can lead to ripples and then waves and then tsunamis. but first, you must change, p.i. pride.

noynoy won, but the road towards his goal is a most difficult one. he could not do it alone. he needs the support of the people and all the elective officials of the land, especially gloria. if this is the time for change, we should all change. we complain of corruption forgetting that we are part of the process there is corruption because we, the people, support and sustain it. we go to an office, for example, to have something approved…we do not want to wait, we bribe the employee…we get what we want. there is no corruption nor graft if there is no one who corrupts nor bribe a government servant. now, if the government servant expects and accepts the bribe…that is the big problem, especially if the department head supports this activity. but there is the press, there are still members like tulfo who can help to expose such activity. and this is only an example in the lowest level. gambling is another thing.

gambling money supports a lot of candidates this election time. when is payback time? that is the tragedy of gibo. the people became wary of him because of his loyalty and support for gloria macapagal. how could anyone trust him? come payback time, what would he be capable of doing? he forgot that where national interest begins, payback time to corrupt allies ends. we should pray for noynoy to have god's grace to lead, pray…for the elective officials, to stand on their promises. equally important, we should pray for gloria to have god's grace to see her win as her last chance to correct the wrongs she did and sufferings she caused to her country and to her people.

It's no doubt, the Filipino people has finally spoken! Noynoy is the choice of the people, I hope others will honor that, just like those candidates who already conceded, I salute them.  True, Noynoy is only President, he's not a hero and he doesn't have magical powers to change our country in a snap! But he has the humility to serve, the simplicity to be a model for frugality and the unquestionable honesty and integrity to fight corruption. But the job can't be done by him alone, he needs our support and we cannot do it overnight.  We can do something to change our country..as long as we can see that our leaders are good, "hindi magnanakaw at hindi mag nanakaw"! Let's do our part and support President Noynoy for a better and corrupt-free Philippines.

You voted for him, you stick with him kahit pabagsak na ang pinas ha?

    Sir,

    truly yours,
