Jason Ivler Pleads “NOT GUILTY”

Murder suspect Jason Ivler faced Judge Alexander Balut from Branch 76 of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court just yesterday, February 16, 2010, and entered a “NOT GUILTY” plea for the alleged murder of Renato Ebarle Jr. He was carried into court via a stretcher and his mom, Marlene Aguilar and his stepfather, Mr. Stephen Pollard, were there to stand with him during the court proceeding.

Schedule for the preliminary conference is slated to be on the 25th and 26th of this month (February 2010) and the schedule for the pre-trial would be during the 2nd of March. NBI agents stood to watch and guard the suspect. After the court proceedings, he was brought back to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center and when he is discharged from the hospital he will then be transferred to the Quezon City Jail.

The victim’s family (Ebarle family) has already demanded that Ivler be transferred to the jail because he has been in the hospital already for 21 days and counting. But Ivler’s doctor, Dr. Romeo Abery, has insisted that Mr. Ivler is still not fit to transfer to the jail because of his sutures and open wounds that haven’t healed yet. He has stated that Mr. Ivler will still need around 2-4 weeks of hospital stay for which Marlene Aguilar is quite thankful about.

Other than the murder case that is being brought against Jason Ivler, he also has been charged with “direct assault withattempted and frustrated murder” because of his resistance to arrests when he was discovered in their home and because of the fact that he got into a gunfight with the arresting authorities too.
